Key information
The two venues
Civil ceremony. Mairie de Fouras, Place Lenoir, 17450 Fouras, France.
Reception and dinner. Les Salons du Parc, 1 Avenue du Bois Vert, 17450 Fouras, France. It sits inside the Bois du Casino park.
Weather permitting, the vin d’honneur will be outdoors. Dinner and dancing follow inside the main hall.
Walking and parking
Between the venues. The walk from the town hall to Les Salons du Parc is about 700 metres, a 7 to 10 minute stroll through the town centre and the park.
Parking near the town hall. Street parking there is limited. We recommend Parking du Casino or Parking Place des Cèdres, both a short three-minute walk away.
Parking at the reception. Free and plentiful, right beside the venue at Esplanade du Fort Vauban and along Avenue du Bois Vert.
What to wear
Summer in Fouras is usually warm and sunny, but being right on the Atlantic means there can be a fresh sea breeze or the odd light shower.
- Attire. Lightweight summer suits or blazers with tailored trousers, elevated midi or floor-length dresses, or a jumpsuit.
- Footwear. Block heels, wedges or stylish flats. You’ll be walking on cobbles and park paths, so this one really matters.
- Layers. Bring a light wrap, jacket or blazer for the outdoor vin d’honneur.
